Catalina Hills, AZ (July 9, 2019) – Authorities responded to the scene of a fatal accident on East Sunrise Drive that took one life in the Catalina Foothills.
Deputies responded to the scene of the accident around 2 p.m. They found that, for reasons that are still under investigation, a pickup truck left the road and drove into trees.
The driver has since been identified as 61-year-old Gregory Simmons who was transported to a hospital initially and then pronounced dead.
Sunrise Drive was closed for several hours while the investigation continued.
Our sincerest condolences are warmly extended to the family and friends of the party whose life was taken in this crash.
