Chandler, AZ (September 21, 2019) – Three bicyclists were struck by a hit-and-run driver early Saturday morning, according to reports from the Chandler Police Department.
The accident occurred around 6:30 a.m. at Riggs Road and Black Hills Way. Per information from police, three bicyclists were traveling eastbound in the bike lane on Riggs Road when a silver or gray Lexus hit them and continued to travel eastbound. The bicyclists sustained injuries, though authorities say that they are non-life threatening. It appears as though Chandler EMTs transported at least one of the cyclists to the hospital, however.
Officers from the Chandler Police Department have confirmed that the suspect’s vehicle is a 2001 to 2006 Lexus and will have damage on the passenger side, as well as a missing side-view mirror. Police are asking that any witnesses or those with information on this incident contact the Chandler PD at (480) 782-4130.
