Phoenix, AZ (September 12, 2019) – Around 11:30 a.m., Phoenix Police respond to the scene of a car accident with reported serious injuries on I-10. The accident closed westbound lanes for quite some time.
According to the Arizona Department of Transportation, the accident closed down lanes immediately following the accident but reopened them around 12:10 p.m.
The closure took place due to reported serious injuries due to the accident. Paramedics assisted those who were injured in the crash, taking some to the hospital.
A preliminary investigation into the accident showed that a sedan had a flat tire and was moving about 20 mph on the highway when it was suddenly struck by a faster vehicle behind it.
The investigation into the accident is ongoing at this time.
