Glendale, AZ – Injuries Reported in Multi-Car Crash at 56th Ave & Northern Ave

Glendale, AZ (October 30, 2019) – A collision shut down both directions of Northern Avenue and resulted in several injuries on Tuesday.

According to officials from the Glendale Police Department, officers responded to a multi-vehicle collision in the area of 56th Avenue and Northern Avenue on Tuesday evening. Per Sgt. John Roth, a spokesman for the Glendale Police Department, a vehicle speeding eastbound on Northern Avenue struck another vehicle and pushed it into westbound traffic. At that point, the vehicle struck another car in the westbound lanes.

A total of three vehicles were involved in the incident and at least two of the cars were occupied by children. Impairment does appear to be involved, per information from Roth. Minor injuries were reported, including injuries to an 8-year-old girl, and at least one victim was transported to an area hospital. Northern was closed from 55th Avenue to 56th Avenue while authorities investigated.
