Scottsdale, AZ (October 13, 2019) – A rollover crash near McDonald Drive on Loop 101 resulted in traffic delays and sent at least one victim to the hospital on Friday morning.
Officers determined that the wreck occurred around 6:00 a.m. and involved at least two vehicles. It appears that one sedan may have clipped another vehicle, resulting in a rollover accident on L-101, just before McDonald Drive.
The driver and other occupants of the car that rolled were injured, and it appears that one victim was transported to the hospital in an ambulance by Scottsdale paramedics. An officer noted that the rolled car was on its side when authorities responded to the wreck and that it sustained extensive damage.
Officers from the Scottsdale Police Department closed the affected lanes, leaving only one lane of traffic open on L-101, also referred to as the Pima Freeway. The affected stretch of the Pima Freeway remained nearly impassable for several hours, even after the crash was cleared at about 6:45 a.m. Authorities advised drivers to exit early and avoid the area while they continued to investigate the cause of the wreck.
