Tucson, AZ (October 14, 2019) – A pedestrian has died after being struck and seriously injured by a vehicle on Saturday night.
Troy Scott Daniel Martini, 44, was transported to Banner University Medical Center via ambulance with life-threatening injuries. Shortly after arriving at the hospital, he was pronounced dead, per a news release from the Tucson Police Department. Tucson Police Department officers and the Tucson Fire Department were dispatched to West Valencia Road and South Missiondale Road, near 12th Avenue, for a report of a serious injury collision around 6:45 p.m. on Saturday.
Martini was walking northbound and crossing Valencia Road when he was hit by a car. Police say that he was about 200 feet from the intersection and there was no crosswalk where he was walking.
The driver stopped immediately and cooperated with the investigation, though the investigation is ongoing. No charges or citations have been issued at this time.
