Black Canyon City, AZ – Man Hit & Killed on I-17 Near Rock Springs

Black Canyon City, AZ (November 4, 2019) – A deadly pedestrian crash closed southbound Interstate 17 north of the Valley on Sunday.

According to information from the Arizona Department of Public Safety, the freeway was closed near the Rock Springs area of Black Canyon City after a car hit a pedestrian around 6:30 p.m. Local officers and EMTs arrived on the scene shortly after the accident occurred to treat the victim, though he was pronounced dead at the scene.

Troopers say the pedestrian was found on the shoulder but further details about the collision are not known at this time. The crash is still under investigation.
