Phoenix, AZ – Trooper Injured in Multi-Car Crash at 19th Ave & Grand Ave

Phoenix, AZ (November 15, 2019) – An Arizona Department of Public Safety trooper was involved in a crash in Phoenix Friday night.

Officials with DPS say the wreck happened around 8:30 p.m. at the intersection of 19th and Grand avenues. Phoenix police officials say a marked DPS unit was driving north on 19th Avenue when it was hit by an eastbound car that didn’t stop for a red light.

The trooper was taken to a hospital to be checked out for precautionary reasons. The driver of the second car was also taken to the hospital with minor injuries.

The intersection of 19th Avenue and Grand Avenue is restricted, as the crash investigation is ongoing.

No other people were in the SUV and no other vehicles appear to be involved. Our thoughts are with the injured officer in hopes of a full recovery.
