Scottsdale, AZ (February 20, 2020) – Police have arrested a woman on suspicion of DUI after they say she hit and killed a man crossing a street in Scottsdale on Thursday morning.
According to officers from the Scottsdale Police Department, the crash happened around 6:20 a.m. on 68th Street, just north of Thomas Road. Authorities say that 47-year-old Amy Durgan was driving northbound on 68th Street when she hit 48-year-old Jason Barnhart, who was crossing the street mid-block. Local EMTs arrived on the scene shortly after the accident occurred, but Barnhart died at the scene.
Durgan was arrested for alleged DUI. At this point, it’s not clear if she has a history of DUI, but police say the investigation is continuing.
