Scottsdale, AZ – Alexandra Holder-Amaral ID’d as Hit-and-Run Suspect in Chaparral Rd Wreck

Scottsdale, AZ (September 25, 2019) – Alexandra Holder-Amaral has been identified as the suspect involved in a Scottsdale hit-and-run wreck on Sunday.

According to troopers with the Department of Public Safety, Holder-Amaral crashed her car, ran from the scene and tried to hide behind a bush. The crash occurred on Loop 101, also known as the Pima Freeway, at the Chaparral Road exit. Officers say that Alexandra Holder-Amaral, 23, was driving northbound on Loop 101 when she rear-ended another vehicle, which pushed that vehicle into a third car. At least one of the victims in the other vehicles was transported to an area hospital via ambulance.

After the crash, Holder-Amaral allegedly stumbled from the scene and attempted to run, per court documents. Arizona State Troopers say that Holder-Amaral had a strong odor of alcoholic beverage on her breath when she spoke and exhaled, was incoherent, and was stumbling as she walked.

Comments in the police report state that several small bottles of THC, a small bag of marijuana, and other drug paraphernalia were located in the vehicle and in her purse. Holder-Amaral is facing several charges, including DUI, endangerment, drug possession, and failure to stay at an accident.

Our thoughts are with the injured victims and their families at this time. We hope for their full recovery.
