Phoenix, AZ – UPDATE: Evan Larson Charged in Injury Crash at Deer Valley Rd

Phoenix, AZ (October 11, 2019) – Officers from the Phoenix Police Department say that a man has been charged in an injury accident that occurred on October 4.

According to officers, the DUI suspect was found in the passenger seat of a car without a driver. Around 3:30 a.m. on October 4, officers responded to 19th Avenue and Deer Valley Road for a two-vehicle injurious collision. One car ran a red light at the intersection and collided with an SUV. The driver of that SUV was transported to the hospital via ambulance in critical condition with a skull fracture, brain bleed, and broken ribs.

When a witness to the accident approached the car that ran the light, he found 26-year-old Evan Patrick Larson in the passenger seat, but no one in the driver’s seat or anywhere else near the vehicle. Court records show that surveillance video from a nearby McDonald’s taken just before the accident shows Larson driving the car. The video also allegedly shows him discarding a six-pack of bottles on the ground.

A blood-alcohol test on Larson is pending, but he has been charged with aggravated assault.

The accident remains under investigation at this time.
