Tucson, AZ – UPDATE: Andrew Totten Killed in Motorcycle Wreck at Broadway & Alvernon Way

Tucson, AZ (November 16, 2019) – The Tucson Police Department identified the victim of a deadly motorcycle fatality as 20-year-old Andrew Totten.

Officers were dispatched to the intersection of Broadway Boulevard and Alvernon Way on Wednesday around 6:00 p.m. involving a motorcycle and passenger vehicle. Personnel with the Tucson Fire Department rendered aid to Totten, who was pronounced dead at the scene, according to a press release from TPD.

After interviews with people on the scene, TPD investigators determined Totten rode his motorcycle in the northbound median lane on Alvernon Way. As he entered the intersection, he collided with the front passenger side of a Toyota Avalon.

The driver of the Toyota, who remained on the scene, said she entered the intersection during a green light to make a turn when the light phased to red. She continued then collided with Totten, according to the release.

Speed does not appear to be a factor and a DUI officer determined the driver was not impaired.

Police are still conducting their investigation and no charges or citations have been issued. Anyone with additional information should call 88-CRIME.

Our condolences go out to the family of Andrew Totten at this time.
