Casa Grande, AZ (March 4, 2020) – Interstate 10 westbound reopened north of Casa Grande following a closure due to a fatal crash on Wednesday morning, according to Arizona Department of Public Safety officials.
Traffic on the westbound lanes of the I-10 remained backed up at least 8 miles to State Route 187, according to a tweet by the Arizona Department of Transportation.
The crash caused traffic to detour onto State Route 587 north or Casa Blanca Road, and take State Route 87 north to Loop 202 Santan Freeway in Chandler, public safety officials said.
Drivers traveling past Phoenix were encouraged to use Interstate 8 and State Route 85, ADOT said.
No information about the victim’s identity or how the crash occurred is available at this time. DPS officials are investigating.
